A competition was launched and people were asked to submit a poem,
prose, artwork, anything that captures the message of Peace, Recognition and
Remembrance. Entries could be original or an existing work that was thought to
embody the message.
The winning entry, which is to be incorporated into the project, was penned by
Margaret Howarth and is called "Be Proud".
"Our lads and lasses who went to war,
Died in deserts and fields of flowers,
Remember them all with gratitude,
Live the peace that now is ours."
